He rose to prominence following the release of the song “Bulleya” from the film “Ae Dil Hai Mushkil”; for his rendition of the song, he received a Filmfare Award for New Music Talent, a Screen Award for Best Male Playback, and an IIFA Award for Best Male Playback. He received nominations for the same song in multiple award events. He has also sang in Telugu, Bengali, and Marathi movies.
